    Secure64 Targets Small, Medium Sized Government Agencies
    Denver-based Secure64, a developer of secure DNS software, said earlier this week that it is specifically targeting small and medium sized government agencies with a new product. According to the firm, it has rolled out Secure64 DNS Signer - Small Enterprise Edition, a version ofi ts product which provides Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) key generation, key rollover, zone signing and re-signing, all at a price structure for those smaller IT organizations.     Trada Raises $2.2M
    Boulder-based Trada, a new startup which runs an online marketplace for paid search experts, announced today that it has raised $2.2M. The funding came from The Foundry Group and angel investors Alan Warms, Carlos Cashman, Dan Murray, James Crouthamel, Stuart Larkins and Robert Wolfe. (More info...)

    New Mexico Teen Wins Intel Science Talent Search
    Semiconductor giant Intel Corp. announced this week that it has named Erika DeBenedictis, an 18-year old from Albuquerque, New Mexico, as the winner of its Intel Science Talent Search. DeBenedictis gets $100,000 for her project, which focused on developing a software navigation system to help improve spacecraft travel through the solar system. Intel gave $630,000 in awards to 40 finalists in the contest. Over 1,736 high school seniors participated in the contest this year.

    Sorenson Media Signs U of U, Others
    Sorenson Media, which develops video encoding and decoding software, as well as operates its own online video hosting service, said today that it has deployed its Sorenson 360 online video platform at the University of Utah, as well as four other universities. Sorenson said that the University of Utah is using Sorenson 360, its online video platform, for curriculum development and delivery to class projects, marketing, and educational outreach.     Cadre Technologies Gets New Funding
    Denver-based Cadre Technologies, a developer of warehouse management software, said today that it has receivd a new round of funding from its original investors. Amount of the investment was not disclosed by the company. According to Cadre, the new funding will go to expand its products and services, as well as for working capital. Cadre has previously scored funding from Appian Ventures and Boulder Ventures. (More info...)

    Confio Claims Record 2009 Growth
    Boulder, Colorado-based Confio Software, a developer of database performance tools, said today that it saw "record" growth in 2009, with a 43 percent increase in bookings over last year. Actual financials were not released by the company. The firm claimed that it gained more customers and generated more license revenue than ever before in 2009. Confio's product is used to optimize Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and IBM DB2 database performance. (More info...)

    Ping Identity Links Into Google Apps
    Denver-based Ping Identity, a developer of single sign on software, said Tuesday that it has added support for OpenID Internet single sign-on for Google Apps. The firm said that the addition of the support will offer software-as-a-service vendors ability to authenticate their software via a customer's Google Apps domain. Ping said the supports comes from an optional, PingFederate add-on. Pricing on the new software was not released. (More info...)

    Aegis Analytical Wins Human Genome Sciences
    Lafayette, Colorado-based Aegis Analytical Corp. said today that Human Genome Sciences, Inc. is deplying the firm's data management software. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Aegis said that HGS will use its data management, analytics, and reporting tool in the scale-up and production of BENLYSTA, an investigational drug for the treatment of systemic lupus.

    Spectra Logic Ranks In List of GSA Contractors
    Boulder, Colorado-based data storage firm Spectra Logic said today that the firm was ranked in the top ten percent of U.S., General Services Administration (GSA) information technology contractors in 2009. The firm said the rankings were based on annual revenues of GSA Schedule 70 It products and services. Spectra Logic said its Federal sales account for more than 20 percent of its overall revenues. Spectra Logic is a maker of disk and tape backup systems and backup libraries.

    Confio Hands Reins Back To Founder
    Boulder-based Confio Software, a developer of database performance monitoring and analysis software, announced today that Matt Larson, founder and CTO of the firm, is now Chief Executive officer. Larson replaces Charlie Sander, who also was lead investor in the firm. Confio said that Sander becomes Chairman of the company.

    Amtech Names President
    Tempe, Arizona-based Amtech Systems, a developer of production and automation equipment for the solar and semiconductor industry, said today that it has named Fokko Pentinga as President of the firm. Pentinga was most recently Managing Director of Amtech Europe, and Geleral Manager of Tempress Systems. Pentinga has been at Amtech since 2008. Amtech also said that J.s. Whang will continue on as CEO and Chairman of the firm.

    Kount Links With Chase Paymentech
    Boise, Idaho-based Kount, a developer of fraud detection technology, said today that it has linked with Chase Paymentech, a payment processor for merchants. Financial terms of the alliance were not disclosed. The two firms said that they will offer fraud detection, management and prevention tools for merchants, based on Kount's fraud detection technology. Chase Paymentech is a business unit of JPMorgan Chase.

    SCO Group Gets $2M In Funding
    Lindon, Utah-based The SCO Group, the firm behind a long running software lawsuit over the Linux operating system, announced today that it has received $2M in funding, with approval of the Bankruptcy Court. According to SCO, the funding came from an un-named group of private lenders. SCO said the new funding will go towards operating and administrative expenses, as well as litigation-related expenses for the firm. (More info...)

    Intermap Wins Garmin
    Denver-based Intermap Technologies, a developer of 3D terrain models for the geospatial mapping industry, announced today that it has signed an agreement with satellite navigation firm Garmin Ltd..     Rentbits.com Buys ApartmentFrog.com
    Denver-based Rentbits.com, which operates an online site to help renters search for houses, condos, and apartments, announced today that it has acquired ApartmentFrog.com, an online site focused on multi-family rentals. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Rentbits said the buy will help expand the firm's distribution for advertisers.

    Pixorial Names CEO
    Denver-based Pixorial, which develops an online site which helps people to share and collaborate on creating videos, said this week that it has named Ari Kaufman as CEO of the company. Kaufman was the former General Manager of LookSmart. Founder and current CEO Andres Espineira has become Chariman and President of Products for the company.

    OpSec Security Gets $23.5M
    Denver-based OpSec Security Group plc, a developer of anti-counterfeiting technology, said Thursday that it has raised $23.5M in funding from Investcorp Technology Partners. The firm, which is listed on the AIM, said the funding will allow it to continue growth in global markets, and to look to for investment and acquisition opportunities.     Tandberg Says 500,000 RDX Cartridges Shipped
    Boulder, Colorado-based data storage firm Tandberg Data said Thursday afternoon that it has shipped more than 500,000 RDX cartridges, and 180,000 of its RDX removable disk systems, to OEMs, resellers and distributors.     BitWise Controls Gets Investment
    Englewood, Colorado-based BitWise Controls, a developer of IP-enabled control systems for the home and commercial automation market, reported today that it has received a strategic investment from Denver-based ProLink Solutions. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.     Grow Utah Names Pixelture Winner Of Latest Contest
    Grow Utah Ventures named Pixelture, a developer of a product to connect notebooks and smart phones to connect wirelessly to displays, as winner of the group's latest "Concept to Company" contest.     ProStor Gets $5M From Imation
    Boulder, Colorad-based ProStor, a developer of removable hard disk format and related products, has received $5M in an investment from Imation Corp.. Imation announced the deal today in conjunction with a new, license agreement with ProStor on its RDX removable disk format.
